General
Prayer in Rabbinic Literature Database This data base is the result of an ongoing project run by Prof. Uri Ehrlich of the Goldstein-Goren department of Jewish Thought at Ben Gurion University of the Negev. The Prayer in Rabbinic Literature Database was created to

and students alike to investigate prayer-related rabbinic texts
per various rubrics. This developing database enables retrieval
of sources according to: * liturgical categories and settings, both statutory and
spontaneous; * the historical strata of rabbinic literature, according to
specific book or according to person(s) named in a tradition; * subject categories.

Legends of the
Jews Legends of the Jews by Louis Ginzberg 1909 is a
compellation of Midrashim according to the order of the Hebrew Bible.
Ginzberg used his incredible knowledge of Midrash to pull together an
immense amount of material into one unified compellation. Unfortunately,
the final product cannot replace the original, since you can't tell where
one Midrash ends and here another begins or how Ginzberg worked them
together. In addition, without the footnotes, missing on this site, it may
be difficult to find the original source. |

Philosophy and ReligionThe academic study of Jewish thought without
reference to general thought and religion is unthinkable. However, the amount of
resources available on the Internet on philosophy and religion is tremendous and
constantly growing, and we cannot hope to cover even a small percentage of them
on this page. The following are a few good places to start:
Virtual
Religion Index This index from Rutgers University, Religion Department,
is designed to advance academic research in matters of religion. The headings
include:[ Awards & Reviews ] [ Academic Sites ] [ American Studies ] [
Ancient Near East ] [ Anthropology & Sociology ] [ Art & Archaeology ] [

Religion ] [ Confessional Agencies ] [ East Asia ] [ Ethics & Moral Values ]
